NEO's Terms of Service, in plain language

Our Terms of Service set the rules for using NEO's website and services. Here is what they say, in plain language.

The main points

  • Acceptance: using our website and services means you agree to the terms.
  • Our services: licensed paralegal services within the scope the Law Society of Ontario allows. A signed retainer agreement is needed before we represent you.
  • No client relationship from the website alone: using the site, or sending us a message, doesn't make you a client. That starts when a retainer is signed.
  • Your responsibilities: give accurate information, keep your account secure, don't misuse the platform, and respond to our requests in good time.
  • Fees and payment: fees are disclosed before services begin, and fixed-fee arrangements are set out in your retainer.

The terms protect both of us by making clear when we are acting for you and what each side is responsible for.

This article is general information for people in Ontario, not legal advice. Rules, forms and deadlines change, and every situation is different. Check the current rule or speak to a licensed legal professional before you act.

Not sure where you stand? A licensed paralegal can look at your documents and tell you your options.
