Protected Grounds
Under Ontario's Human Rights Code, you cannot be discriminated against or harassed based on several protected grounds, including:
- Age
- Disability
- Race, Colour, or Ethnic Origin
- Sex, Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity, or Gender Expression
- Religion or Creed
- Family or Marital Status
Employer Obligations
- Duty to Accommodate — Employers must provide reasonable accommodations to the point of undue hardship.
- Safe Workplace — Employers must have policies in place to prevent and investigate harassment.
- No Reprisal — Employers cannot punish you for exercising your human rights.
