Anti-Harassment and Anti-Discrimination Policy

Last updated: October 15, 2026

Purpose

Everyone who deals with NEO, whether a client, a member of our team, another party or a member of the public, is entitled to be treated with dignity and respect. This policy explains our commitment and what to do if it isn't met.

Who it applies to

Every licensee, employee and contractor of the firm, in the office, at hearings, online and at work-related events.

Our commitment

  • We do not tolerate harassment, including sexual harassment, or discrimination on any ground protected by the Ontario Human Rights Code, such as race, ancestry, place of origin, colour, ethnic origin, citizenship, creed, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, age, marital status, family status or disability.
  • We provide accommodation to the point of undue hardship, for clients and for our team, under our Accessibility Policy.
  • We do not retaliate against anyone who raises a concern in good faith, or who takes part in an investigation.

Reporting a concern

Tell the principal by email at info@neolegalservices.com or by phone at 647-200-3526. If the concern is about the principal, you can contact the Law Society of Ontario's Discrimination and Harassment Counsel, which is independent, free and confidential.

What happens next

  1. We take every concern seriously and look into it promptly and fairly.
  2. Information is kept as confidential as the investigation allows.
  3. The person who raised the concern is told the outcome and any action taken.
  4. Anyone found to have harassed or discriminated against someone faces consequences, up to ending their work with the firm.

Workplace harassment and violence

For our team, this policy works alongside the workplace harassment and violence program in our Workplace Safety and WSIB Policy, under Ontario's Occupational Health and Safety Act.

The rules behind this policy

The Law Society of Ontario's Paralegal Rules of Conduct on harassment and discrimination, the Ontario Human Rights Code, and the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

Review

This policy is reviewed at least once a year, and whenever the Law Society's By-Laws or rules change. The principal approves every change.
