What the program offers

  • Community support: summary advice and guidance for people who face significant legal hurdles but may not qualify for legal aid.
  • Educational workshops: free legal information sessions for students and community groups, for example on tenant and employee rights.
  • Strategic advocacy: a focus on matters involving fundamental human rights or systemic issues.

Eligibility

We can't accept every matter without a fee. Priority goes to matters involving fundamental human rights, imminent homelessness and severe workplace harassment, and to people who don't qualify for Legal Aid Ontario but can't afford fixed fees.

This article is general information for people in Ontario, not legal advice. Rules, forms and deadlines change, and every situation is different. Check the current rule or speak to a licensed legal professional before you act.

Not sure where you stand? A licensed paralegal can look at your documents and tell you your options.
